there are two mathematicians, and there are two integers between [2,100]. mathematician A is told the product of these two numbers (and he also knows that the number he's got is obtained by multiplying the numbers). mathematician B is told the sum of the numbers (similarly he knows this number is obtained by adding the two numbers). they do not reveal the information presented to them to each other.

A says: i can't find the numbers
B says: i knew you couldn't
A says: in that case, i found them
B says: i found them too.

what are these numbers?

Now .. this part is confusing. If anyone is told that x is the product or sum of a and b, then it's obvious that we will get x by multiplying or adding a and b respectively. So why put in brackets ?? I think there's a typo in the problem biggrin.gif
